Broccoli Indian Recipe: BROCCOLI STIR-FRY

Broccoli Indian Recipe: Broccoli Stir-Fry

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder (optional, for spiciness)
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.

  2. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

  3. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they turn translucent.

  4. Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chilli. Cook for a minute until the raw smell disappears.

  5. Add the broccoli florets and mix well.

  6. Sprinkle turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder (if using), and salt. Stir to coat the broccoli evenly with the spices.

  7. Cover the pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender yet crisp. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  8. Remove the lid and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow any excess moisture to evaporate.

  9. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.

  10. Remove from heat and transfer the broccoli stir-fry to a serving dish.

  11. Serve hot as a side dish with rice or roti (Indian bread).

Note: You can customize the spices and adjust the level of spiciness according to your preference. Feel free to add other vegetables or ingredients like tomatoes, grated coconut, or lemon juice to enhance the flavor.
