MASALA DOSA WITH TOMATO CHUTNEY

INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING IDILLI BATTER

3 Cup Idli Rice                                        
1 Cup Urad Dal    
Water (For Soaking)    

INGREDIENTS FOR DOSA MASALA

4 Potatoes 
2 Onions  
7-8 Pods Garlic 
2 Tomatoes    
2 Green Chillies 
Salt (To Taste)
1/2 tsp Garam Masala            
1/2 tsp Coriander Powder      
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds              
1/2 cup Water
1/2 cup Coriander Leaves       

INGREDIENTS FOR TOMATO CHUTNEY  

Tomatoes      
2-3 Part Ginger      
4-5 Pods Garlic     
1 tsp Pepper Powder
1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds          

INSTRUCTIONS

1. For making Idili Batter, wash and soak 3 cups of Idili Rice and 1 cup of Urad Dal in water separately for 6 hours. Later grind to smooth paste and keep it covered in warm place for fermentation for about 8 hours. For making dosa, scoop the batter out to another bowl, add water and salt. Mix well to the desired consistency.

2. Now in a cooker , add 1/2 tbsp oil, to it add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, let it crackle. Add 1/2 tsp fennel seeds to it.



3.To it add 4 chopped potatoes, 2 onions,  small part ginger, 7-8 garlic pods, and 2 chillies.




4. Add Salt, 1/2 tsp Garam Masala, 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder, and water. Close the cooker and cook till 2 whistles.



5.  Now open the cooker, and cook until water gets absorbed fully.





6. Mash the vegetables and add chopped coriander leaves to it.


7. For tomato chutney, take a kadai and dry roast 4 tomatoes, ginger and garlic.


8. Take a mixer and make a smooth paste of it. 




9. To it add 1 tsp pepper and salt and cook for a couple of mins in low flame.




10. Garnish with some coriander leaves.


11. Now a non stick pan, pour idili batter and make dosa. To it add few drops of ghee. Flip and cook both sides.


12. Take 1 tbsp of masala and spread nicely over dosa and roll it.



13. Serve Hot with tomato chutney.
