TARO KEBAB | ARBI PATTAE KA KEBAB | CHEMBU ELLA PAKORA

I am here with another Delicious Dish made using Taro Leaves. In Hindi, this is well known as Arbi ke Patte and Chembu Ella in Malayalam. As to my surrounding, there are lot of such plantations, and I believe you can to get it too 😊

INGREDIENTS 

    • Taro/Arbi/Chemmbu Leaves- 2 (Small/Meddium)

    • Gram Flour - 1.5 Cups 

    • Turmeric Powder - 2 tsp

    • Chilly Powder - 1 tbsp

    • Coriander Powder-1 tbsp 

    • Garam Masala  - 1 tsp

    • Cumin Seeds - 1tsp

    • Shallot/ Small Onions -7 to 8 

    • Ginger & Garlic Paste -1 tbsp

    • Green Chillis - 1 or 2

    • Salt - 1 tbsp

    • Lemon Juice -2 tsp

    • Water - 1 cup

    • Oil - 4 tbsp


INSTRUCTIONS:

1.) Select two small to medium sized Taro/ Arbi/ Chembu Leaves. Wash throughly. Divide the leaves from its centre. 




2.) In a bowl, mix together 1 1/2 Cup Gram Flour (Besan), 2 tsp Turmeric, 1 tbsp Chilly Powder, 1 tbsp Coriander Powder, 1 tsp Garam Masala, 1 tsp Cumin Seeds, 7 to 8 Chopped shallots, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 1 to 2 green chillies, salt (to taste) and 2 tsp lemon juice. Add water gradually to it. Make sure you make a smooth paste.

3.) Evenly apply the prepared mixture over the leaf.















4.) Stack coated leaves one above the other as shown in the below image.



5.) There after roll the leave completely. Can cut these rolls into two according to the size of steamer being used.



6.) Now steam cook the same for about 15 to 20 mins. This will better cook the Gram flour inside.



7.) Take out the steam cooked rolls and let it cool down. 



8.) Cut these rolls.  




9.) Take a fry pan and add oil. Fry these kebab on both sides. 



10.) Serve hot with Sauce of your choice.
